Sowing early peas

Only January and here we are with the early peas already! Usually sowing these can take quite some time, but somebody very kindly sent us this fantastic little contraption that can dib 56 holes at once! Modern technology is amazing, but you have to admire the inventiveness of the Victorians - if a job could be sped up or made more efficient by the invention of a tool, then someone would come up with it. As Bill Bryson has it, it's surprising that no-one came up with an automated pat yourself on the back device!
