Tree Surgery

The care of an historic garden includes many different roles and approaches. As many of the old established trees in the garden start to show their age, it is sometimes necessary to step in with some timely tree surgery, both to preserve the life of the tree, and for safety reasons. Here the top half of the oak tree that overhangs the well area and the Reserve Garden is trimmed of its dead wood before it dropped of its own accord. Hopefully we have managed to do this work without impinging too much on the beginning of the nesting season.
